Nanominerals and Mining
Nanominerals can be found throughout the atmosphere and is also present in the oceans, in the soil, living organisms, and may even be present within proteins. Nano is derived from the Greek word nanos which means “dwarf.” Minerals are described as naturally occurring crystalline substances that exhibit particular characteristics and a definitive chemical composition. They also have their own physical and chemical properties.
On the other hand, nanominerals are slightly different because they have different physical and chemical properties largely dependent on their shape and size.
Nowadays, nanominerals have become quite an important issue.
One of the interesting aspects of nanominerals is mining.
Nanomineral mining involves finding traces of gold using electron microscopes. The sub-micron, or nano, deposits are coated with something called a refractory shell that protects them from easy detection and extraction. Normal mining procedures like standard mining examination or assay methods like fire assay, aqua regia, leach, and neutron activation analysis do not usually detect nanominerals. Breakthroughs in mining technology in recent years however, have produced efficient methods of detecting these minute particles.
There are groups that are well into nanomineral mining like Chuck Ager, the founder of Nanominerals Corporation. Chuck Ager’s privately held corporation is into state-of-the-art exploration of precious metals derived from nanomineral deposits. They identify, locate, and extract these metals. Nanominerals Corporation boasts of more than 30 years of experience as mineral explorationists. Chuck Ager and his team of engineers and scientists used their ultra-modern technology to find gold in the Delgratia Project of Nevada.
Exciting discoveries of nanominerals/nanoparticles are expected in the years to come. In fact, in June 2008, nanoparticles were found in the western part of Australia where the groundwater is really salty and acidic. This acidic and salty groundwater liquefies the primary gold and re-deposits it as pure gold crystals.
Chuck Ager (Charles Ager) is currently the Chairman of Nanominerals Corp . Nanominerals Corp uses newly developed mining technology to extract trace deposits of gold from the ground. Dr. Chuck Ager uses cost-efficient, and earth-friendly mining technology to extract nanominerals from the earth.
