Permission-Based Email Marketing Fundamentals

Communicating with your Clients and Prospects
Most people talk about different things with different people. With one friend the conversation might usually focus on relationships, while with another, perhaps talk turns more naturally to movies, books, sports or politics.

You would be unlikely to appeal to your relationship-discussing friend if you were to engage in a monologue about your opinion of our current political leaders. However, if you started in with that same screed to your politics-loving friend, he or she would greet it with a smile that says “let the games begin!”

The same theory applies to communicating with your customers and prospects. “One of the most important things to keep in mind when developing your campaign is relevance, says Yael Penn, Principal of Imagine Creative Marketing. “If you send a message recipients are interested in receiving, you will get their attention and your campaign will be a success. However, if your message is not relevant to their interests or current needs, they will most likely ignore it, or even worse, unsubscribe from your database and you’ll never be able to communicate with them again!”

Segmenting your Database
So now you may be thinking, “Not all of the people in my database have the same interests, what to do?” Before you send out a campaign, you should segment your database into several groups of people who share specific traits, whether it be age, gender, hobbies, job function, purchase history, etc. Take whatever information you already have about the people in your database and put it to good use. This exercise will also give you some insight as to the type of information you will want to gather moving forward to better segment your database in the future.

Then, once you’re satisfied with the way you’ve segmented your database you can create a message that will be relevant to each of those groups. “A lot of people make the mistake of creating email campaigns that appeal to themselves, rather than their target audience,” says Penn. “The more you know about your
customers, the more you can customize the message, look and feel to better speak to the people you are marketing to.”

Enhancing your existing database
When you went through the exercise of segmenting your database for the first time, you probably thought about what type of information would be helpful to have to better communicate with your customers and prospects. Make a list of the most important things (e.g., age, gender, magazines subscriptions, job
function, industry, geo) and incorporate these questions into all of you opt-in forms and order forms. The fields should be the same across the board. That way, you consistently collect the relevant information from all new customers and prospects. If you are able to create drop down menus for these fields to standardize the way information is fed into your database, even better.

Once you’ve incorporated everything into your opt-in and purchase forms, you might want to send out a survey to your existing database to gather this missing information. An enticing premium will increase your response rate. But remember, the premium should be enticing to your target audience, not yourself.

In addition, it is very important to keep good records of what people are buying, when and for how much. These sorts of buying patterns, combined with demographic data, will also prove very valuable for future marketing campaigns.

Communicating with your database on a regular basis
This is where the demographic information and the buying records are going to come in handy. Let’s say you sell gloves, hats and scarves. Some of your customers have purchased red women’s gloves but not the matching red hat and a red scarf. So you might send them an email with information on a special for
the matching red hat and red scarf. However, you will probably want to send a different email to the women who purchased the grey gloves and a different email with an offer for men’s accessories to the men in your database. “You should customize your permission-based email marketing efforts to appeal
to specifics,” says Dan Forootan, President of the StreamSend Email Marketing Service. “By doing this you can greatly increase both your sales and revenue.”

“Its important to communicate with your customers and prospects on a regular basis,” adds Penn. “but you need to have a good reason for communicating with them, one that brings value in some way. If you’re opt-out rate is high, it’s a good indication that its time to rethink your messaging as well a how frequently you are communicating with your database.

Track your campaigns
Tracking the results of your campaigns will enable you to determine what’s working and what’s not. One easy way to do this is to incorporate a field in all your forms called “offer code”. Assign a specific code to each email campaign you send out and be sure to give people an incentive to use the offer code when
responding.

After each campaign expires you should analyze the results, including how many people you sent the email to, how many emails were delivered, how many people clicked through and how many people opted-out (most email marketing systems will give you these stats). In addition, if you look at the number
of people who responded using the campaign offer code, you will be able to calculate the campaign response rate.

Last but not least!
As you are gathering more and more information about your customers, you can use this information to “paint a picture” of your “ideal customer”. These are the people who bring you the most profits and you definitely want more customers like these!

The Pastimes of Luck Gambling Enthusiasts Enjoy Contending in: a Simple Guide to Casino Games

Monday, April 27th, 2009

If you haven’t quite grasped gambling saloon gambling, do read on.

By common definition a betting house is an edifice that organizes games. At such a place, guests will enjoy themselves by operating the coin-operated machines or some other betting pastimes. Gambling saloon games mainly include mathematically calculated probabilities included which guarantee the gambling company preserves dominion against the gaming aficionados.

A huge number of gaming hall games encourage you to get hooked swiftly. For instance the good old 1-armed bandit, a cash operated appliance with three, occasionally more reels which pivot when a bar affixed to it is tugged. This instrument typically remunerates with reference to a sequence of logos visible on the lit panel of the machine. Disastrously, betting house pastimes proffer the fantasy of remaining in control, hoodwinking the betting aficionado — the addressee is endowed alternatives, but actually they do not compensate for the player’s fundamental disadvantage. That is caused by the the casino never refunding the full stake as expected. This systematic method is notoriously found in well known casino games like seven card stud poker, dice, roulette or blackjack. Poker is doubtlessly a very popular casino pastime. The guests, holding either fully or partially concealed cards, bet in a principal pot that is awarded to the last player endowed with best set of cards. (Obviously, the coolest bluff may well prevail as well…)

virtual gambling

Similar to Texas hold’em, blackjack is likewise a highly fashionable casino game. Plenty of its celebrity is grounded in its particular mix of chance and knowledge & decision making, not to forget a system termed “counting”. This is an approach in which customers will bend the arm of chance of the game in their interest by both wagering and systematic actions established on the cards dealt.

Craps is a well-known wagering game utilizing the throw of a couple of dice. Gamers are betting on the score of one spin, or on a string of spins on 2 dice. Contrary to blackjack, there isn’t any credible winning strategy people could employ to beat the odds.

Roulette is another extremely popular gambling pastime; a croupier twists a roulette wheel which has precisely 37 (European roulette) or, alternatively exactly 38 (applies to American or Vegas roulette) uniquely numbered compartments in which the rolling ball will eventually come to settle, thereby determining the winner Supposing that the participant happens to bet on any given number which wins i.e. she’s lucky, the guaranteed recompense is 35:1, the initial pledge proper will be given back. Indeed in totality the initial wager is increased by 36.

Make a point of being very much watchful as well because all of these gaming room games of chance can be very obsessive. Plenty of lives may well have been destroyed thru gambling and whereas it indisputably might be entertaining, do your best to balance yourself.

Why You Should Personalize Your Autoresponders

Monday, April 27th, 2009

This interesting article addresses some of the key issues regarding Personalizing Autoresponders. A careful reading of this material could make a big difference in how you think about Personalized Autoresponders.

Have you ever walked into a store in your town, and been addressed by name? This has probably happened to you at stores that you frequent often. The shop owner knows your name, and uses it. He remembers you, and he wants you to know that he cared enough about you and your business to remember you. In the offline world, this is just one aspect of customer support.

Customer service like this is almost impossible to achieve on the Internet, but some semblance of it can exist when you personalize your autoresponder messages. Autoresponder messages can be set up to address people by their first or last name or both. In fact, there is quite a bit of personalized information that can be added, depending on the autoresponder that you are using.

The information is included in the autoresponder messages by using codes. Each autoresponder will use different codes to insert the information in your messages. You simply write your message, and put the codes where you want the personalized information to appear. For instance, your message may start out with ‘Hello (code for first name)! In this case, the person’s first name will be inserted where that code is.

Think about what you’ve read so far. Does it reinforce what you already know about Personalize Autoresponders? Or was there something completely new? What about the remaining paragraphs?

Personalizing your autoresponder messages will most likely improve your response rate. Research has shown that emails that are personalized with the person’s first name are opened more often, and those people are generally more receptive to the contents of the email message. It is usually very easy to do. You write one message, using the codes where you want the personalization, then, no matter who that one email is sent out to, their personal information will appear where the codes are.

Of course, the autoresponder must collect the information first. This is done with the use of forms that activate the autoresponder. For instance, if you are giving away a free ebook, and you have your visitor fill out a form with their email address to receive the download instructions for the ebook by email, that form should collect any type of information that you want for personalization such as a first name, as well as the email address. If that information is not collected, the autoresponder won’t have anything to insert where that code appears in your messages!

Take a look around the control panel of your autoresponder, and find out what type of
personalization you can add to your autoresponder messages. You may be very surprised at the
improved results!

Don’t limit yourself by refusing to learn the details about Personalized Autoresponders. The more you know, the easier it will be to focus on what’s important.

Squats Will Help Keep You Independent

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

I’m a missionary spreading the gospel of strength exercise
for older adults.

This article is a part of that gospel. You may think that only
body builders do squats, but they are the first exercise
anyone of any age should do as he or she begins an
exercise program. When you do a squat, you are
strengthening the thigh muscles (quadriceps) that you use
to get up out of a chair–I call them the muscles of
independence. Just doing a couple of sets of 8 repetitions
daily will increase your leg strength. Getting up off the couch
will be easier and you’ll be less likely to fall.

Here are your in-depth instructions for doing squats.
Stand with your feet hip width apart. If you are afraid of
falling, stand behind a heavy chair and hold on to the back
of
the chair. If there is a chance you may tip the chair over,
place some heavy weights on the seat. If you don’t need to
hold on, make sure you pull your stomach muscles in to
keep your back straight so it is not arched. If you don’t need
to hold on, hold your hands in a prayer position in front of
you.

In the strength classes I teach I say, “Stick your bottom out
behind. Pretend you are Donald Duck and waggle your tail.”
Then slowly lower your bottom as if you are going to sit.
Keep most of your weight back on your heels. Your upper
body should remain upright–do not bend at the waist. As
you lower your body, extend your hands out in front of you
until your arms are parallel with the floor. This will help keep
you from bending over.

Keep your knees over your toes. You can injure your knees if
you don’t. When you look down as you’re doing a squat, you
should always be able to see your toes. If you cannot, you’re
not doing the squat properly. If your knees hurt, try making
your bottom stick out further. This will keep your knees over
your feet. If they still hurt, don’t go down so far. If that doesn’t
work, do not do this exercise. If you can’t get the hang of it,
actually sit down slowly in a straight chair and watch to see
how you do it.

Lower your bottom very slowly down as far as you are
comfortable. Inhale as you go down Do not go beyond the
point at which your thighs are parallel with the floor. If your
leg muscles are very weak or if your knees begin to
complain, lower your body only a few inches. Check to be
sure your bottom is protruding out behind. The further you
stick out your bottom, the less your knees are likely to hurt.
You should take approximately four seconds for the
lowering phase.

Stand back up while you concentrate on tightening your
thigh muscles and making them do the work. Push up with
your thighs. Do not stand back up quickly; slower is better.
Exhale as you stand back up. Take about two seconds to lift
your body back up to its original position.

This is not a glamorous exercise. I tell class members that
they leave “lady-like” at the door. We are athletes while we
are working out.

Do eight repetitions of this exercise very slowly. It should
take about six seconds for each repetition and your legs
should feel tired when you finish. If they do not, you have
probably not been tightening the thigh muscles as you
stand back up; you’ve been letting your knees do much of
the work. As you begin to straighten your legs, tighten the
thighs and push. I find it often takes new exercisers several
weeks to really get the hang of this.

If your thighs are burning when you finish the set, you’re
getting the maximum benefit from the exercise. You may
want to shake out your legs if they feel very tired.
You will be amazed how doing this simple exercise
regularly will make it easier to climb stairs, arise from a
chair and get in and out of the car.
It will also improve your balance because your legs will
become strong enough to hold and support you securely as
you stand.

Tip: Make sure you do not bend at the waist so you are
looking at the floor. If you are not sure you are doing this
exercise correctly, get someone to watch you or exercise in
front of a mirror.

See your doctor before beginning an exercise program. If
any exercise causes pain, stop immediately. Modify the
exercise so it does not cause pain or find another exercise
to work the same body part. Any exercise program carries
risks of injury. Phyllis Rogers and/or Senior Fitness, Inc. are

Barrister Bookcases and Their Story – Riveting

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

Bookcases are an inevitable part of any library. Bookcases help in storing books and saving them from wear and tear. Bookcases generally have horizontal compartments for keeping publications. Outer glass doors are a good alternative to refer and store books neatly.

What is a cherry barrister bookcase?

Barristers or lawyers want to make use of several heavy and massive books in the course of their practice. These books are pricey too and necessary to be kept ready to hand for a quickly consultation.Barrister bookcases are designed with the same role of having heavy reference manuals for lawyers. They are also known as attorneys bookcases and can be created in oak wood, cherry wood in several endings and colourations.

How did people store books when barrister bookcases did not exist?

people did not feel the want for a bookcase as books were a rarity. In those times, books were hand-written.They were placed in minute containers by the wealthy people. It was the wealthy mans privilege to own and carry books as they were not inexpensive. these rich men utilised these containers to store books.

After a while, these hand-codified volumes were seen in many well-heeled peoples houses. Due to this, the volumes were placed in cupboards or on shelves. The bookshelves that we see Now are an offspring of these cupboards in the past, without the doors.

So what way were these books kept in the case?

The books were arranged in a established way. They utilized to be piled upon each other on their sides or kept upright with their edges on the outside and the backs facing the wall. The books utilised to be closed with a band created of leather, vellum or sheepskin that carried the title of the book. This band was located on the front edge and therefore the volumes were put with their edges facing out.

After publishing technology was invented, books were easily accessible to the ordinary man due to the reduced costs. printing built it manageable to have the title on the back and edges facing within.

Which materials were principally utilised?

In the old years, barrister bookcases were made of oak primarily. But if you liked you could order for a bookcase in maple, cherry and pine wood besides. You can also go for economical choices such as steel in creating a barrister bookcase. Some of the oldest bookcases are in England in the Bodleian Library at Oxford University. They are placed here since the sixteenth century.

using tiny pills covered in fretwork frames, Chippendale and Sheraton designed lovely bookcases. These bookcases indeed contributed to the elegance of the room.

How are the latest bookcases unique?

who could have stated that a simple bookshelf will develop into being a tough barrister bookshelf after?

How To Improve Your Open Rates And Click-Thru Rates In Your Email Campaigns

Friday, April 24th, 2009

In this article I will give you several tips that can help you in improving your open and click-thru rates.

1) Open rate

In order to your email campaign be successful the first necessary thing is that people open and read your email newsletter. Online publishing is very similar to traditional publishing. When you buy a daily newspaper, you probably don’t read everything. You don’t have that much of free time and not every subject is equally interesting for you. If you are a sports fan you will read the sport section but you might skip an article about latest movies . In most cases you will decide what you are going to read upon subject titles.

Same thing with email newsletters. One of the two most important factors that influence whether or not your subscriber will open your email newsletter will be your subject line. In order to have good open rates and click-thru rates you have to know your audience. Your message has to be well targeted.

There are several rules you have to follow in order to make effective subject lines.

Subject lines

Your subject lines should be short and snappy to get attention of your subscribers. Many people receive dozens of emails every day and some other people that have web sites and often make posts on different places like web forums, discussion lists, publish articles, can get more than 100 emails per day. So your message will have a very big competition in your subscriber’s inbox. That’s why your subject line has to grab attention of your subscriber. This doesn’t mean that you have to use usual spam techniques. On the contrary. Avoid using words FREE, GUARANTEED, Make Money Fast, Limited Offer and other get-rich-quick schemes words. Not just because of your subscribers. If you use these words it is most likely that your emails will never even reach them. Their ISP will take care of that with their spam filters. Also don’t capitalize every letter and don’t put several times exclamation. You don’t need to shout, people will “hear” you if you know how to “tell” them your message.

So your subject line has to be short and snappy, best thing is that you include one title from your articles in your subject line. It can be some breaking news or exlusive interview. People like to read breaking news or exclusive interviews that can’t be found anywhere else. Also, people often read how-to articles (for example – How To Choose The Right Email Marketing Software) or so called “number” articles (for example – 7 Tips For E-publishers On A Shoestring Budget).

Good thing is that you put your newsletter name in brackets, at the beginning of your subject line in order to be easily recognized from other emails in inbox.

Please bear in mind, that your subject line has to be consistent. What do I mean by that? Of course that you will change the title in your subject line but you have to find the best subject form and stick to it. For example:

[NewslettterName] Your Subject Title, Issue #x, Date

Don’t forget, in order to make effective ads and this apply to subject lines, as well you have to remember 3 words – test, test, test! You have to experiment with different models and find out which work best for you.

From field

Beside Subject line, From field is another info that your recipients will see in their inbox. People have to trust you in order to decide to read your emails. You don’t open your doors to every person who knocks, don’t you?

If you are well-known person, trusted expert in your industry, for example some reputable Internet consultant and you are the only person that is involved in creation and publishing of the newsletter put your name in From field. If several people are involved in that process and if it is a corporate newsletter, use your company name.

Most important thing with From fields is that you don’t experiment with it. Choose one From field and stick to that. It is very un-professional that you often change your From field and beside that, in that case, your open rate will decline.

Useful tip is that you ask your subscribers to make a filter rule for your email newsletter, based on your email address, From field or some part of your Subject line. For example, they can put [YourNewsletterName] in a filter rule for your newsletter or your From field name so every time they get the email newsletter that matches that rule it will be moved to a specially designed folder, for example YourNewsletterName. So this way your newsletter won’t end in their Bulk folder. That is also one of the reasons why you should be consistent with your From field and subject line.

2) Click-Thru Rates

Clicks come once your email newsletter is opened. With good open rate you have finished only one part of the job. Now, your newsletter has to be well designed with appropriate content and concept, and most important, well targeted in order to have a decent click-thru ratio (CTR). You have to know your audience. You can increase your CTR if you put your most important articles and ads at the top of your email newsletters. Don’t write too long articles. It is better to write articles where you will list several tips. Also, don’t overload your newsletter with ads. People want to read useful things and not lots of ads.

Also, you know that a picture is worth more than 1000 words, so it is good that if you publish a HTML newsletter that you include photos that will be relevant to your articles and that are clickable. Click-Thru rates get higher if you give some value-added services to your subscribers. You have to make a good relationship with them. Treat them well, write useful articles, give exclusive discounts to your subscribers and they will show their appreciation.

Different types of email newsletters have different click-thru ratio. Click-Thru ratio is important, but it is not the most important. Just because many people click on your follow-up article or offer doesn’t mean that they will actually buy your software or service. In some cases, lower CTR can get you more sales than some good CTR. Think about that next time you start your email campaign.

Auto Detailing and Boat Detailing

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Many auto detailers, automotive detail shops and mobile car wash and detailing business have found a lucrative niche in cleaning, washing and detailing boats, yachts and personal watercraft. You would be surprised the demand for such services. It is worthy to look into this if you are considering expanding your business or starting a brand new auto detailing company.

You see boat detailing can be a nice addition to the various services that your detailshop or for your mobile detailing company. While it is not generally quite as profitable as say aircraft washing and detailing private jet aircraft, it can be a lucrative venture especially for those of you that live near lakes, rivers or ocean harbors and have a large population of people with boats. For those of you that have this, you might consider this advice as you strategize your potential market niches for the up coming year.

Is boat detailing difficult? No, not really but you do need to brush up on Gel Coats, wood finishes and corrosion control a bit, so you understand what you are getting into. Additionally there are several good lines of products out there, such as StarBrite and Meguires, which manufacture custom waxes and polishes for marine applications. So be thinking on this in 2006.

The Winning Prospect’s of the Euro Lotto and Does Anybody Stand a True Chance of Winning

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

The prospects of scooping the Euro Lottery jackpot is a distant one in seventy-six million but the chances of acquiring a cash prize is a fairly decent 1 : twenty-four. When the jack-pot is not won on a given lottery draw, it is carried over to the next lotto draw which results in an ever increasing jackpot prize. Recent rules added on the 09.02.2007 specify the number of consecutive rollovers to 11, with the jack-pot rolling out to lower prize levels in the 11th lotto draw if the prize is not won.

The EUROMILLIONS lottery or the Euro Lottery, as it is usually well-known, pools the lottery ticket receipts of the nine partaking Euro countries giving a enormous Euro lottery jack-pot. With the sum of countries joining the EU on the increase, that will without a doubt lead to even more states participating in the Euro Millions lottery. A growth in the amount of individuals partaking in the Euro millions lotto will lead to a prolonged increase of the already big Euro Millions jackpots.

The recent rules likewise initiated Euro Lottery Super Draw which go on twice annually plus they offer jackpots in the region of 100 million pounds. The difference with Super Draws is that the jackpot has to be collected during the week of the draw; this means, if there is no lotto ticket matching, all the numbers drawn and the top prize will be allotted to the ticket bearer(s) in the next winning prize level.

Each and every player has to choose 5 primary numbers from one to fifty and 2 Lucky Star numbers from 1 to 9. During the lotto draw, five primary and 2 lucky star numbers are then selected at random from 2 draw machines containing numbered lottery balls.

4 Time-Saving E-Mail Tips!

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

E-Mail is still the most widely used Internet tool available today. Virtually everyone who has Internet access has an email account, and for the Internet Marketer this opens up a huge possibility for more business.

Unfortunately, over the past few years lots of people have abused this amazing marketing tool with their unacceptable spam. Fortunately, more and more people worldwide are taking action against spam, and so the amount of spammers has drastically reduced.

In this article I’ll explain how you can use this fantastic technology to your advantage, by simply following a few easy steps. The result is a powerful marketing system that will save lots of time and enable you to spend more time promoting and advertising your online business.

The first step – Get to know your email program!

Although all email programs basically do the same thing, there is still a lot of variety between them, and so it’s very useful to get to know your email program.

Spending 30 minutes playing around with your email program is definitely worthwhile, and will enable you to familiarize yourself with all the individual features that your email program offers.

When you’ve spent time playing around with the features of your email program, you can move onto step 2.

The second step – Automation is the key to an organized business!

You aim should be to spend at least 90% of your time promoting and advertising your online business, and that’s very difficult to do if you’re spending lots of your time answering emails.

That’s why an automated system is needed. Most email programs have a feature known as a ‘filter’ which basically looks at the email messages, and does certain actions based on the criteria of the message.

For instance, you can use a filter to automatically separate orders from general enquires. Using filters will save you time and effort, and will automatically separate your email messages into the right folders.

They even allow you to create your own desktop-based autoresponders. (A very efficient and time-saving tool)

The third step – Make your signature NOW!

A signature is a little message you attach to all outgoing mail that can contain sales info, special offers or contact info.

The greatest thing about a signature is that it gives you the chance to advertise your product or service to literally thousands of people.

Usually it comes in the form of a 4-8 line message attached to the end of an email.

On an average day I process up to 200 emails from people worldwide. If I attach the above signature to 200 emails every single day, that’s 200 more prospects who get my sales message!

It really surprises me that many Internet Marketers still don’t use signatures with their email messages.

Virtually every email program allows you to attach a signature. Now you don’t have any excuses, so go ahead and start making some email signatures today, and generating more profits tomorrow!

The forth step – Create templates to save even more time!

If you’re processing more than 10 emails a day, chances are you’ll find that you’re continuously replying to the same questions every day.

Why waste your time typing out the same text over and over again? With template files, you can call up a pre-made email template, and just fill in the bits that require personalization.

Instant replies without continuous typing! With a click of a button, you can call up a ready-made template. And best of all, you can use dozens of them to save lots of time.

Each email program works slightly different with template files, so I’d suggest looking through the program’s help file for full information.
