Why Ski in Val D’Isere in the Northern Alps
Unrivaled amongst most famed snowboarding towns for luxury ski holidays, Val d’Isre brags 516 km of marked pistes. The winter season begins during early November and culminates in the start of May. The high altitude resort caters everything for you. Val d’Isere unfolds along the vale from La Daille until Le Fornet with the apres ski in the centre of Val Village. The clustering of appealing homes incorporate smart dress shops many of which have developed since the village was picked for the winter olympics.
Split into three different parts Val d’Isre has ample pistes for all levels. With a fab historical snow record, the village is enormously popular amongst advanced boarders and piste hungry intermediates, on the other hand you don’t have to be particularly advanced to love what is there. It’s easy to why a lot of Brits are pulled in to the mountain, with its varied night-life and the choice of entertainment on offer, however the close proximity of Tignes permits you to venture out to less busy areas if it all becomes too much.
Pros
A brilliant night-life in France. Everyone understands English. Easy access to Val d’Isre and Tignes known as the Espace Killy ski area. There’s a lot of vehicles and though there are many buses in the daytime, committed party animmals had better head to be within a short walking distance of the centre.
Cons
Overpriced. Frantic and very popular with English clientle, and so not for those wanting a typical French resort to relish a calming ski holiday. A lot of lifts can close in windy weather. Several difficult blue and green runs.
